Voronezh State Nature Biosphere Reserve named after V. M. Peskov
he Voronezh Reserve is located in the central part of European Russia and is one of the oldest protected natural areas in the Russian Federation. It was established in 1923 to protect beavers, a species that had been almost completely exterminated in the European part of Russia.
By now it has grown into a major research center with a protected territory of more than 30,000 hectares, holding the international status of a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
Here I share my photographic impressions: pictures of its forests, river floodplains and marshes, as well as its main inhabitants — the beavers.
